If by any chance spamassassin is not running, a possible solution will be to do a database update. In order to do that, type the following command in the CLI:

ipbrickc:~# /usr/bin/sa-update --nogpg

Afterwards, do:

ipbrickc:~# /etc/init.d/spamassassin start

And chek if the service is now up and running
