How to register a remote phone
There are 3 different ways to register a remote phone.
Register a phone through a VPN
- Establish a VPN between the phone/softphone and the IPBrick;
- Register the phone with the necessary data (account, password, IPBrick's IP, etc.).
Register a phone through a TLS certificate
- Create a certificate on IPBrick (Advanced Configurations » Telephony » TLS Management);
- Introduce the certificate on its respective phone and proceed with the usual register.
Note: Not all phones have an option to introduce a TLS certificate.
Register a phone (only if it has fixed public IP)
- Configure the phone on IPBrick as Remote (IPBrick.GT » Phones Management » Phone);
- Place the phone on an access class (IPBrick.GT » Functions » Outbound » Access class);
- Create a rule on the firewall, allowing traffic just to the phone's public IP.
Note: This last step is extremely important in which concerns to security issues.
